Here's the Lawsuit files by The Council Chairman....

By Florida Times Union;

Possible state investigation into cable consumer complaints

By First Coast News Staff

JACKSONVILLE, Fl - Accusing AT&T Broadband of possibly violating Florida law, Jacksonville City Council President Matt Carlucci called on the State Attorney General to investigate the company and its consumer complaints. Carlucci claims the cable giant has been misrepresenting the quality of its service and may be in violation of state law regarding false, deceptive and unfair trade practices.

Carlucci held a new conference before noon to highlight his concerns. It comes in the wake of mounting customer dissatisfaction with AT&T Broadband's performance since last February. This is a major step in the city's quest for the true picture of AT&T Broadband customer complaints and how the company has been handling them according to its agreement with the city.

In turning to Attorney General Bob Butterworth for answers, AT&T Broadband has been put on formal notice that its relationship with the city is on "thin ice." Attorney General Bob Butterworth is about as high as the city could go in the chain of command involving consumer protection.

Despite promises by AT&T Broadband to clean up its act, city regulators say for at least the last five months, they have not been getting accurate figures on how quickly the cable giant has been responding to customer complaints. "We have found a lot of inconsistencies ourselves, a lot of red flags. Now, you have a lawsuit and another one fixing to be filed this week, I believe," said Matt Carlucci, city council president. "It's just time to take a formal review of this and the attorney general's office has a division just for this type of problem."

In a letter from Matt Carlucci to State Attorney General Bob Butterworth, complaints last June were 2700% above normal. Carlucci says AT&T Broadband continues to charge for late installation even though it routinely doesn't arrive within the required 3 hour and 15 minute scheduling window. $20 credits on late service calls are routinely not given to customers as required. The letter went out just before Carlucci's news conference.

Hummm oh what fun... Matt Carlucci is a maverick Councilman.. He hates Big Busineses that try to take advanage of Our City.. he's clean as a whistle and a devout Christian.. Look out AT&T.. Matt Carlucci is on the loose! ;D

Wow, for service levels to be at 3%, they must have had everyone logged off the phones. It defenitely doesn't surprise me tho. That's probly why they outsource the tech help for the internet side of things. Our service levels are usually right around 95%
