Cablenut queries
« on: February 02, 2004, 04:05:01 am »
Would like some answers to some basic Cablenut Queries:

1) Why does Cablenut not have a feature which allows me to roll back to the default Windows settings?
2) When I use the option to Delete Cablenut Tweaks, then all the fields go blank. Now if I say Save to Registry, does it go back to the Windows defaults, or does it wipe out all entries?
3) I am using cable through a LAN. ie I don't have a cable modem, but I have a NIC card which gets me my Internet. Should I turn the NIC card to half duplex as I have seen in some forums, in addition to using Cablenut?
Would appreciate a quick rely on this...

Regards,

Vinoo

#1 and #2 are the same thing.  Windows by default does not have any of the TCP parameters cablenut sets in the registry by default.  So by blanking everything, that is the default windows settings.

As long as you are networked through a router/switch than handles full duplex, use full duplex.  The cable modem should be set to half duplex [usually] but your LAN should be able to handle full duplex [usually]
