All that Protest
« on: March 24, 2003, 01:27:17 am »
Something to think about

All that Protest by a 600 lb Gorilla.

I don’t get it.
Theirs a war and people protest. There’s always two sides. There’s always unrest. Give it a Rest. Im Talking to all you Morons that do it wrong. While the Government laughs in there sleep.
If you’re going to protest. Then do it right.

Here’s an example.

Our Fighting Men and Women that get praised left and right by all. There gonna come home to find that our Fat Cats that sent them are gonna Cut the Benefit’s not only to the Men and Women that fought in the past but to the up and coming that will have to retire one day themselves. Praise them then Screw them.
We spend billions on our Defense. I totally agree with that. A Strong Defense is what’s needed in these days past and present. But take care of the people that take care of us.

All that protest
Where are you. When people in our own country go to bed hungry every night.
Where are you when the left winged idiot say I have a petition for you to sign that makes it illegal to smoke in a bar. Second hand smoke protestors are full of it. Do some real reading and research the topic. There first person to bring the Flue to the Doctors office and make the Nurse and Doctor sick. How about a petition making everyone wear a surgical mask to protect the ones that give care instead of the one full of it.

All that protest.
Lets run around the streets protesting a war blocking up traffic. Making it hard for Family to get home to loved ones Or better yet make it Impossible to get a Ambulance to a hospital with a loved one. Inosent people died because the Ambulance couldnt get through.  Didn’t you Idiots ever hear of a Sit-in. Go to the Federal court house and have a sit-in. Do it Quiet but make it Impossible for them to hold Court that day. People you know who you are. Did you know you were all filmed. How about protesting that.

All that protest.
You don’t like the way Government is handled. Make sure you get the Facts on it and do something to change it. Here in Chicago. The theme is to Vote and Vote Often. In Florida Well we know you aint reading this..

All that protest.
You want to protest something do the leg work. Finish the Job Don’t be the US government start something in Afghanistan and not finish it. All the tell tails are there just like everything else with us in this Country here we are we’re Americans We’re here to liberate you. Then abandon you. Protest the lack of follow through.

All that Protest
We have coins and paper Money that say In God we trust. This country was built around the right to beleave, and beleifs.
Thomas Jefferson (who they quote) if he were alive today would tell off the supreme court. Then finish it by reading all of the paper he wrote to not have God taken out of contents. But No one is out protesting the government on that. Leave the Supreme court alone they know all. Rights to life. How about the right to a life.

All that protest All the religious leader please do it right. The last religious leader to do it right was Martin Luther King. All that fuss over civil rights started with 50 original protesters doing it right. Do any of you know your history. Quit the same stupid mistakes.
(As this is Whispered into Jesse's ear)

All that protest People get past over everyday for work just because they dont have a College degree. Yet they have better knowledge over the person that just got out of College. A College degree.. Yup proff you can read.

Keep in mind when you head out to a protest. Is it really the thing you want to protest. Is it worth fighting for. How many will you effect and will you effect the right people. Boys and Girls I grew up in a time that when people went to a protest it was for something and it effected the right thing. It got to the politicians of the time. It kept certain leaders from being re-elected or even running again. People even died protesting what they believed in.
It made a difference when the Vietnam Vets went up with there wheel chairs and got Nixon to say he was bringing them home.
You want to Protest what about the Bill of Rights. Everyday some Lawyer benefits from rewriting laws in this country taking a little more away everyday.
The EPA that’s a Good one. Yes we need them; we need to protect our resources. Did you know the Ozone they claim we destroy it everyday, can heal itself. But they dont tell you that. Did you know rather than making it a Illegal to use R14 refrigerant that destroys the Ozone. They would rather have you buy a 30lb tank so they can make there $300.00 a bottle or more. But there good for us.
But here we are with All that Protest who Benefited from it. Yup your Voice was heard. To bad it won’t make a Difference.
Now go do it right.

This Rant brought to you to help you think. It was left only part way done only because I know there are people out there that can read and think for themselves but wont read a book. Lets face it Florida is proof that Americans only read part of the facts anyway. It's not just Florida its the whole country. Illinois is a good example now we have the same crappy voting machines. Hum A computer virus written the right way can change the Vote. How about that for a protest.

Use your Brains people. That’s that lump 3 feet up from your ass.

God Bless America. God bless the fighting Boys and Girls wherever you are. Make it quick. God bless all of us.
Don't forget Prayer.

This Commentary brought to you by a 500 lb Gorilla. Posted by Dannjr and read by you.
Dont like it protest. Just remember its a 500 lb Gorilla your fighting with ;D

Thanks

While this commentary was posted by me. There are things in it to think about. Maybe the next time theres a petition to be made it will be written correctly. Or maybe the next time you go out to protest you'll question the leaders of that protest as to why its being done the way it is.
OR maybe one day I'll follow simple Grammatik rules the next time I post.
The Peace sign Avatar has more than one meaning. But most of you wont know or remember. I wont explain it. Look it up.

God bless us all.

Well said Dannjr!  ;)
I think the biggest problem with these protest is that the "REASON" they are protesting.
They don't like Bush? is not a good reason.
They think Gore won the Election? is not a  good reason.
I don't mind an honest dissagreement with the War. But If you want to convince ME then give me a Informed Factual reason you oppose it. (I say this to all who are oppose to the war.)
From the FACTUAL information I tend to believe we are right to go to this war.
But wether it's right or wrong.. History will tell.
My only concern is Prayers for our Forces over
there NOW!
They are there doing what they were Trained to do. They are Following the Orders of their Commander In Chief who was Authorize By OUR Congressmen to go forward with this.
If you must Prostest.. then Go to your ELECTED offical and Protest. They knew what they were voting for.
I prefer Peaceful means myself. I'm a non-violent person.
But alone that same line.. I believe our Great Nation is under SERIOUS attack from those who take advantage of our Freedom to attack us.
The Ocean is no longer an Border that Protects us. It's now as if you go from one state to another. Our Freedom comes with a Price.
So we MUST change from a Defensive mode to a Pre-empted mode. We must protect Our HomeLand BEFORE another 911 happens again.
Freedom comes with a Price and we are Paying for it.

God Bless the USA
God Save our Military.

Excellent post ;D, the problem i have with all the protest is................ what good is it doing?????? The war has already started and it's not going to stop unitl it's over, we should support our troops 100% and keep them in our prayers. If you were over there how would it make you feel to see so many Americans not supporting you? Not very good I would suppose >:(, they need to know we are behind them to keep up their morale. On the same not read this email I just received from a friend:

Quote

Subject: Who's Smarter?

Who's Smarter?
by Cindy Osborne
The Hollywood group is at it again. Holding anti-war rallies, screaming
about the Bush Administration, running ads in major newspapers, defaming the
President and his Cabinet every chance they get, to anyone and everyone who
will listen. They publicly defile them and call them names like "stupid" ,
"morons", and "idiots". Jessica Lange went so far as to tell a crowd in
Spain that she hates President Bush and is embarrassed to be an American.

So, just how ignorant are these people who are running the country? Let's
look at the biographies of these "stupid", "ignorant" , "moronic" leaders,
and then at the celebrities who are castigating them:

President George W. Bush: Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University
and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the
Texas Air National Guard. He began his career in the oil and gas business in
Midland in 1975 and worked in the energy industry until 1986. He was elected
Governor on November 8, 1994, with 53.5 percent of the vote. In a historic
re-election victory, he became the first Texas Governor to be elected to
consecutive four-year terms on November 3, 1998 winning 68.6 percent of the
vote. In 1998 Governor Bush won 49 percent of the Hispanic vote, 27 percent
of the African-American
vote, 27 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of women. He won more Texas
counties, 240 of 254, than any modern Republican other than Richard Nixon in
1972 and is the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to win the heavily
Hispanic and Democratic border counties of El Paso, Cameron and Hidalgo.
(Someone began circulating a false story about his I.Q. being lower than any
other President. If you believed it, you might want to go to
URBANLEGENDS.COM and see the truth.

Vice President Dick Cheney: Earned a B.A. in 1965 and a M.A. in 1966, both
in political science. Two years later, he won an American Political Science
Association congressional fellowship. One of Vice President Cheney's primary
duties is to share with individuals, members of Congress and foreign
leaders, President Bush's vision to strengthen our economy, secure our
homeland and win the War on Terrorism. In his official role as President of
the Senate, Vice President Cheney
regularly goes to Capital Hill to meet with Senators and members of the
House of Representatives to work on the Administration's legislative goals.
In his travels as Vice President, he has seen first hand the great demands
the war on terrorism is placing on the men and women of our military, and he
is proud of the tremendous job they are doing for the United States of
America.
Secretary of State Colin Powell: Educated in the New York City public
schools, graduating from the City College of New York (CCNY), where he
earned a Bachelor's Degree in geology. He also participated in ROTC at CCNY
and received a commission as an Army second lieutenant upon graduation in
June 1958. His further academic achievements include a Master of Business
Administration Degree from George Washington University. Secretary Powell is
the recipient of numerous U.S. and foreign military awards and decorations.
Secretary Powell's civilian awards include two Presidential Medals of
Freedom, the President's Citizens Medal, the Congressional Gold Medal, the
Secretary of State Distinguished Service Medal, and the Secretary of Energy
Distinguished Service Medal. Several schools and other institutions have
been named in his honor and he holds honorary degrees from universities and
colleges across the country. (Note: He retired as Four Star General in the
United States Army)
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld: Attended Princeton University on
Scholarship (AB, 1954) and served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as a Naval
aviator; Congressional Assistant to Rep. Robert Griffin (R-MI), 1957-59;
U.S. Representative, Illinois, 1962-69; Assistant to the President, Director
of the Office of Economic Opportunity, Director of the Cost of Living
Council, 1969-74; U.S. Ambassador to NATO, 1973-74; head of Presidential
Transition Team, 1974; Assistant to the President, Director of White House
Office of Operations, White House Chief of Staff, 1974-77; Secretary of
Defense, 1975-77.

Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge: Raised in a working class family
in veterans' public housing in Erie. He earned a scholarship to Harvard,
graduating with honors in 1967. After his first year at The Dickinson School
of Law, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as an infantry
staff sergeant in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star for Valor. After
returning to Pennsylvania, he earned his Law Degree and was in private
practice before becoming Assistant District Attorney in Erie County. He was
elected to Congress in 1982. He was the first enlisted Vietnam combat
veteran elected to the U.S. House, and was
overwhelmingly re-elected six times.
National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice: Earned her Bachelor's Degree in
Political Science, Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of
Denver in 1974; her Master's from the University of Notre Dame in 1975; and
her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the
University of Denver in 1981. (Note: Rice enrolled at the University of
Denver at the age of 15, graduating at 19 with a Bachelor's Degree in
Political Science (Cum Laude). She earned a Master's Degree at the
University of Notre Dame and a Doctorate from the University of Denver's
Graduate School of International Studies. Both of her advanced degrees are
also in Political Science.) She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts
and Sciences and has been awarded Honorary Doctorates from Morehouse College
in 1991, the University of Alabama in 1994, and the University of Notre Dame
in 1995. At Stanford, she has been a member of the Center for International
Security and Arms Control, a Senior Fellow of the Institute for
International Studies, and a Fellow (by courtesy) of the Hoover Institution.
Her books include Germany Unified
and Europe Transformed (1995) with Philip Zelikow, The Gorbachev Era (1986)
with Alexander Dallin, and Uncertain Allegiance: The Soviet Union and the
Czechoslovak Army (1984). She also has written numerous articles on Soviet
and East European foreign and defense policy, and has addressed audiences in
settings ranging from the U.S. Ambassador's Residence in Moscow to the
Commonwealth Club to the 1992 and 2000 Republican National Conventions. From
1989 through March 1991, the period of German reunification and the final
days of the Soviet Union, she served in the Bush Administration as Director,
and then Senior Director, of Soviet and East European Affairs in the
National Security Council, and a Special Assistant to the President for
National Security
Affairs. In 1986, while an international affairs fellow of the Council on
Foreign Relations, she served as Special Assistant to the Director of the
Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1997, she served on the Federal Advisory Committee
on Gender -- Integrated Training in the Military. She was a member of the
boards of directors for the Chevron Corporation, the Charles Schwab
Corporation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the University of
Notre Dame, the International Advisory Council of J.P. Morgan and the San
Francisco Symphony Board of Governors. She was a Founding Board member of
the Center for a New Generation, an educational support fund for schools in
East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, California and was Vice President of the
Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. In addition, her past board service
has encompassed such organizations as Transamerica Corporation, Hewlett
Packard, the Carnegie Corporation, Carnegie Endowment for International
Peace, The Rand Corporation, the National Council for
Soviet and East European Studies, the Mid-Peninsula Urban Coalition and
KQED, public broadcasting for San Francisco. Born November 14, 1954 in
Birmingham, Al abama, she resides in Washington, D.C.
So who are these celebrities? What is their education? What is their
experience in affairs of State or in National Security? While I will defend
to the death their right to express their opinions, I think that if they are
going to call into question the intelligence of our leaders, we should also
have all the facts on their educations and background:
Barbra Streisand : Completed high school Career: Singing and acting
Cher: Dropped out of school in 9th grade. Career: Singing and acting
Martin Sheen: Flunked exam to enter University of Dayton. Career: Acting
Jessica Lange: Dropped out college mid-freshman year. Career: Acting
Alec Baldwin: Dropped out of George Washington U. after scandal. Career:
Acting
Julia Roberts: Completed high school. Career: Acting
Sean Penn: Completed High school. Career: Acting
Susan Sarandon: Degree in Drama from Catholic University of America in
Washington, D.C. Career: Acting
Ed Asner; Completed High school. Career: Acting
George Clooney: Dropped out of University of Kentucky. Career: Acting
Michael Moore: Dropped out first year University of Michigan. Career: Movie
Director
Sarah Jessica Parker: Completed High School. Career: Acting
Jennifer Anniston: Completed High School. Career: Acting
Mike Farrell: Completed High school. Career: Acting
Janeane Garofelo: Dropped out of College. Career: Stand up comedienne
Larry Hagman: Attended Bard College for one year. Career: Acting
While comparing the education and experience of these two groups, we should
also remember that President Bush and his cabinet are briefed daily, even
hourly, on the War on Terror and threats to our security. They are privy to
information gathered around the world concerning the Middle East, the
threats to America, the intentions of terrorists and terrorist-supporting
governments. They are in constant communication with the CIA, the FBI,
Interpol, NATO, The United Nations, our own military, and that of our allies
around the world. We cannot simply believe that we have full knowledge of
the threats because we watch CNN!! We cannot
believe that we are in any way as informed as our leaders. These celebrities
have no intelligence-gathering agents, no fact-finding
groups, no insight into the minds of those who would destroy our country.
They only have a deep seated hatred for all things Republican.

By nature, and no one knows quite why, the Hollywood elitists detest
Conservative views and anything that supports or uplifts the United States
of America.

The silence was deafening from the Left when Bill Clinton bombed a
pharmaceutical factory outside of Khartoum, or when he attacked the Bosnian
Serbs in 1995 and 1999. He bombed Serbia itself to get Slobodan Milosevic
out of Kosovo, and not a single peace rally was held.
When our Rangers were ambushed in Somalia and 18 young American lives were
lost, not a peep was heard from Hollywood. Yet now, after our nation has
been attacked on its own soil, after 3,000 Americans were killed, by
freedom-hating terrorists, while going about their routine lives, they want
to hold rallies against the war.

Why the change? Because an honest, God-fearing Republican sits in the White
House.
Another irony is that in 1987, when Ronald Reagan was in office, the
Hollywood group aligned themselves with disarmament groups like SANE, FREEZE
and PEACE ACTION, urging our own government to disarm and freeze the
manufacturing of any further nuclear weapons, in order to promote world
peace. It is curious that now, even after we have heard all the evidence
that Saddam Hussein has chemical, biological and is very close to obtaining
nuclear weapons, their is no cry from this group for HIM to
disarm. They believe we should leave him alone in his quest for these
weapons of mass destruction, even though it is certain that these deadly
weapons will eventually be used against us in our own cities.

So why the hype out of Hollywood? Could these celebrities believe that since
they draw such astronomical salaries, they are entitled to also determine
the course of our Nation? That they can make viable decisions concerning war
and peace?

Did Michael Moore have the backing of the Nation when he recently thanked
France, on our behalf, for being a "good enough friend to tell us we were
wrong"? I know for certain he was not speaking for me.

Does Sean Penn fancy himself a Diplomat, in going to Iraq when we are just
weeks away from war? Does he believe that his High
School Diploma gives him the knowledge (and the right) to go to a country
that is controlled by a maniacal dictator, and speak on behalf of the
American people? Or is it the fact that he pulls in more money per year than
the average American worker will see in a lifetime? Does his bank account
give him clout?
The ultimate irony is that many of these celebrities have made a shambles of
their own lives, with drug abuse, alcoholism, numerous marriages and
divorces, scrapes with the law, publicized temper tantrums, etc. How dare
they pretend to know what is best for an entire nation! What is even more
bizarre is how many people in this country will listen and accept their
views, simply because they liked them in a certain movie, or have fond
memories of an old television sitcom!
It is time for us, as citizens of the United States, to educate ourselves
about the world around us. If future generations are going to
enjoy the freedoms that our forefathers bequeathed us, if they are ever to
know peace in their own country and their world, to live without fear of
terrorism striking in their own cities, we must assure that this nation
remains strong. We must make certain that those who would destroy us are
made aware of the severe consequences that will befall them. Yes, it is a
wonderful dream to sit down with dictators and terrorists and join hands,
singing Cumbaya and talking of world peace. But it is not real.

We did not stop Adolf Hitler from taking over the entire continent of Europe
by simply talking to him. We sent our best and brightest, with the strength
and determination that this Country is known for, and defeated the Nazi
regime.

President John F. Kennedy did not stop the Soviet ships from unloading their
nuclear missiles in Cuba in 1962 with mere words. He stopped them with
action, and threat of immediate war if the ships did not turn around. We did
not end the Cold War with conferences.
It ended with the strong belief of President Ronald Reagan... PEACE through
STRENGTH.

I thought the post was quite good and brought into cognitive thought what a lot of us have been brewing in our cerebral cortexes... However, there are a few points/counterpoints that I"d like to make regarding it. Remember, this is meant as *constructive* criticism here:

1. "We spend billions on our Defense. I totally agree with that. A Strong Defense is what’s needed in these days past and present. "

- Yes, military operations are always very expensive, but the question is "how much is enough?". As a leftist-esque Libertarian (aka just  *slightly* off-center :P), I belive that for the most part we should only have a force large enough to defend ourselves and leave everyone else the hell alone unless there is a specific reason. Basically, "defense" should be just that- defense. We have the biggest military in the world several times over, and as-is many important local programs such as public education, etc. are being cut, esp. in the West due in part to military bloat. Cutting back our military even 25-50% would save billions of $ for other things and we'd *still* have the largest, most effective, well-trained force on the planet.

2.  "Where are you when the left winged idiot say I have a petition for you to sign that makes it illegal to smoke in a bar."

- I'm Left and I wouldn't do that!  8) Seems more of a rightist controll type thing to me. Someone super left would probably be more like "Free cigs for all as long as you give me your loyalty and souls!".

3.  "Second hand smoke protestors are full of it. Do some real reading and research the topic."

- I agree. I was in Sacramento, CA (the capitol) in mid/late Feb. before the war started and there were a fair number of protesters around the capital that weekend. I talked to a few of them, and except for the leaders and  a thin dispersal of people, the vast majority had absolutely no real idea what the helvetica they were talking about or why! Its a heard mentality- spitting back slogans and the like is cool i guess. This also applies to most other people who are for the war. Like it or not, 99.999% of people are conformists, whether they conform to the majority or to the "nonconformist" group. To me, its a fundamental truth that on both sides, the only real individuals in many aspects are the leaders.

4. "Didn’t you Idiots ever hear of a Sit-in. Go to the Federal court house and have a sit-in. Do it Quiet but make it Impossible for them to hold Court that day."

- Sit-ins are the best! For those who haven't read up, most of the people who are most experienced w/ civil dissobediance and write all the books, etc. on the subject agree that its more effective, @ least in US/Western society. Except in a militaristic/coup type situation, all the picketing does is make people pissed at you, feel your cause is annoying and BS, and work even harder to do what you're protesting against if for no other reason than to piss you off in return.

5.  "The theme is to Vote and Vote Often. In Florida Well we know you aint reading this.."

- I agree w/ the 1st part- If you don't excersize your right to vote, you do not deserve to say anything! If you're that apethetic and sadistic, think about it this way: Voting will give you the authority and privelage to pregnant dog as much as you damn well please! As for the 2nd part, Dan, its not the people its the stupid machines. And yes, Gore did win the election rightfully. This leads to another topic. Why should the power go to only 9 supreme court justices in a situation like that? At the very least, it should go through congress, which more correctly represents the populous  >:(

6. " Finish the Job Don’t be the US government start something in Afghanistan and not finish it. All the tell tails are there just like everything else with us in this Country here we are we’re Americans We’re here to liberate you. Then abandon you. Protest the lack of follow through."

- Two things here. First, here's another passive-resistance protest method: If you dont like the government, don't be a "gear in the machine" or whatever by working for a federal or state agency- Work for a private company and if thats too "corporate greed/corruption" for you, start your own damn buisiness. Although you may say otherwise now, greed is caused by wealth and/or power, end of story. If you had one or both like "they" do, you'd more than likely be doing the very same thing, so get over it.  Second, the powers that be really should take Dan's advice. Don't bite off more than you can chew!

7.  "We have coins and paper Money that say In God we trust. This country was built around the right to beleave, and beleifs. "

- You have to take into account history here, on both sides of the argument. First, most areas of the united states were settled (the europeans anyway) by christians of some form. Religion was a much larger part of everyday life than it is now all over the world, so it was a logical thing for it to carry into currency. It may not have even been really a concious thing per se. On the other hand, much of the "under God" type things have only been around since the 1950s, when Truman and later Eisenhower tried to piss of those atheiest commie bastards by putting on a show of rigeous christianity. This applies both to money and the pledge of allegience, and other facets of life. While I am myself agnostic, I do have the maturity (as everyone should) to realize that "God" is an open-ended question which can be answered as one pleases. It could be the judeo/christian/moslem diety, another power, or even if you wish the spirit of America or your own existance. It really doesnt matter. However, considering that it does potentially conflict with the separation of church and state, and was not there historically for the most part, I do belive that such things should be gradually eliminated. HOWEVER: Freedom of conscience under the constitution also applies to you athiests, etc. out there too. Just as you wouldn't want a religious person imposing his/her beliefs on you, don't be hypocritical and do the same to others by imposing your own ideas on them either.

8.  "A College degree.. Yup proff you can read."

- No offense, Dan, but please realize what you're saying before you let it out of your mouth or fingers in this case.  You have an unfortunately bad habbit of spelling things wrong and/or using incorrect grammer or sentance structure. With this line you're invalidating your entire point there! I've made different mistakes that have had the same effect before, so its just a constructive point-out. Left as-is with the bad spelling, its implying that you either didnt go to college, or that college actually doesnt prove that you can read. Either way, thats bad! Moving on....

9.  "Boys and Girls I grew up in a time that when people went to a protest it was for something and it effected the right thing."

-This could be generational bias, but at the same time, don't be a disgrace to those who have legitimate gripes and work to correct them in the appropriate ways by whining and throwing tantrums all the while expecting someone else to solve your problems for you. Take a look at what's gone on in the past and learn what people did right and what they didnt so you won't make any of the same mistakes.

10.  "Did you know the Ozone they claim we destroy it everyday, can heal itself. But they dont tell you that. ...They would rather have you buy a 30lb tank so they can make there $300.00 a bottle or more. "

- No offense, but this is the largest crock I've ever heared! Give me some evidence on this. We all know there's tons of evidence to the contrary.

11. "Hum A computer virus written the right way can change the Vote. How about that for a protest."

-Alternately, you could always have decided to "accidentally" misrecord the punches. Though this has the theoretical potential to be more "official" in a matter of speaking, it may not be that much of a scare, as the potential has always been there.

12. "That’s that lump 3 feet up from your ass."

- You mean the *other* ass? :P

Now, as Forest Gump would say, "That's about all I gotta say about that."

Something to think about

I thought the post was quite good and brought into cognitive thought what a lot of us have been brewing in our cerebral cortexes... However, there are a few points/counterpoints that I"d like to make regarding it. Remember, this is meant as *constructive* criticism here:

Im the last person to ever be offended on a post. The proof is in the lack of locked threads or boards in here. Everyone can have an opinion as long as its kept to topic and for the most part clean.
Im usually the first person to defend and the last person you want to have around if someone was verbally attacked over a Mute subject.
*constructive* criticism is always acceptable and can make for a better place in life as long as its *constructive*.
With that said time to turn the coin, so to speak ;D

I think your Ideals on this need to be looked at as well as the true history behind it. The Separation of Church and state weren’t meant the way you have read it. Or my understanding of what you are saying. There’s been a ton of Arguments on both ends of the coin on this subject. The bottom line falls back on the Supreme Court and because it has; no one has ever taken the chance to find out the majority on this with a true show of hands.
If you want to take the way back history out of it. Look at some past threads all over the Internet on the Majority feelings on the God Issue, and this country. Even a person that reads a 12 step book For instance finds that "God" no matter how they feel when they start ends up believing one way or another. God is a matter of thought and feel.
I personally owe my God allot of gratitude for giving me the Gift of life twice. Plus I like the Idea that I wasn’t just put on this earth to be a mold producer. Wouldn’t it be sad to think that you’re put on the Earth to live about 80 years Just to become fertilizer or the base that a new building will eventually sit on?
an agnostic approach is everyones right. That wont make the fact that taking God out of it is right. It just means that you have your right to an opinion on it. But theMajority should be heard on this not just the Minority.
It is a Minority that has been screeming the loudest on this One line in a paper written by Jefferson. The whole paper as it was originally written was taken out of context. It was also the opinion of one Man and Jefferson that wrote it was very Religious from my understanding of Him. Like all our leaders he had his own faults that I wont get into. It goes back to a  Supreme Court issue. I really dont feal like getting into a Bushwacker vs Dannjr on this subject more than what we posted on it. It all goes to one sentence.

Yup Proof you can read. ;D
College can be a great thing especially if a person has the means to go. I have nothing against higher learning in any fashion. The fact that you caught that just proves you read all of what I waz saying and comprehended 99% for your understanding of it. Which is 40% more than the norm.
Again it falls under the original first sentence of this thread.
“Something to think about”
Or a 600 lb Gorilla or is it.

Are you sure? It Kinda falls under the heading of a title of another movie "never say never"
You got what I was saying and I’m leaving it at that. For now. I wont revise what I wrote above only because of the added posts in this thread. Not only have they been positive pro. Or neg. but everyone tends to agree with the basis of what was written.

The sad part is to have the feelings and do nothing to fix it.

I know the majority of the people wont vote for me to be President ;D But they might get off there ME type Ideals and try to change it.

If we forget the past we will repeat it

Again just Something to think about.

Please keep this in mind if you post to this the basis of the thread is based on "Something to think about" and not nessassarly a political issue even if its written that way.
My personal opinion is that people have just gotten into themselves to much in recent years. So Wake up. that's, for the most part; what its about.

Thanks

Peace
